1. Who we are

2. Service description
KinProof is an AI-powered platform for processing historical and genealogical documents. The service reads, organizes, and extracts information from documents you upload — such as parish registers, certificates, and immigration records — without replacing human review or constituting legal proof on its own.
Features, limits, and conditions may be updated with reasonable prior notice.
3. Account creation
To use KinProof, you must create an account with accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Accounts for users under 18 require consent from a legal guardian.
4. Acceptable use
By using KinProof, you agree to:
- upload only documents for which you have authorization or an adequate legal basis;
- not use the platform for illegal, abusive, deceptive, or third-party-rights-infringing purposes;
- not attempt to circumvent technical limits, scrape data in bulk, or compromise system security;
- not upload content that violates data protection or privacy laws with respect to third parties.
5. Uploaded content
You retain ownership of the documents and data you upload. By uploading content, you grant KinProof a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the requested service.
KinProof does not use your documents to train third-party or proprietary AI models, nor for cross-account matching between distinct users, in this initial phase. See the Privacy Policy and Upload Notice for full details.
6. Plans and credits
KinProof operates on a credit-based model: each page processed consumes 1 (one) credit.
The service offers the following access tiers:
- Free plan (trial): includes a limited number of initial credits and usage limits (uploads, pages, AI). Once these limits are reached, new operations are blocked until you subscribe to a paid plan or purchase additional credits.
- Subscription plans: recurring plans (monthly) that grant a fixed amount of credits per billing period, along with increased limits.
- One-time credit packs: single purchases of additional credits, without a subscription commitment.
Credits are held in the global wallet of the paying user's account and may be used across any family, workspace, or tenant to which the user has authorized access within the platform. Each credit consumption is recorded with a reference to the family/workspace, document, and processing job concerned.
Credits are non-transferable between different accounts, have no cash value for redemption or withdrawal, and are non-refundable after consumption.
KinProof may change pricing, plan composition, and credit allotments with reasonable prior notice. Changes do not retroactively affect credits already granted.
7. Billing and payment
Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is responsible for issuing invoices and receipts, calculating and collecting applicable taxes, processing payment methods, and handling fraud prevention, disputes, chargebacks, and payment support. KinProof does not collect, store, or process full credit or debit card data.
When subscribing to a paid plan or purchasing credits, you will be directed to Paddle's checkout environment, whose terms of service and privacy policy also apply to the transaction.
One-time credit packs are single charges with no recurrence. Subscriptions are recurring and renew automatically at the end of each billing period, as indicated at checkout, until canceled by the user.
If the user chooses to save a payment method during checkout, that information is stored and managed by Paddle, not by KinProof.
Cancellation of a subscription takes effect immediately upon processing. Paid-plan exclusive features (increased limits and premium functionality) are no longer available once the cancellation is confirmed. Credits already granted during the active period are preserved and may be consumed normally until depleted. After cancellation, the account reverts to the free plan.
In the event of a refund, chargeback, cancellation, or operational error, KinProof may remove or adjust granted credits on a proportional basis. Refunds are processed by Paddle in accordance with applicable law and the processor's policies. See our Refund Policy for complete details.
8. Intellectual property
KinProof, its brand, interface, code, and models are the property of TI Especialistas LTDA or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to the user, except the right to use the service during the account's validity.
9. Service results
Results generated by KinProof (transcriptions, extractions, family trees) are AI-assisted support tools. They may contain errors and should be verified by the user before use in research, citizenship applications, or any other purpose. KinProof makes no warranties of completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KinProof will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the service. Our total liability, in any case, is limited to the amount paid by the user in the past 12 months, or, for free plans, to the applicable legal minimum.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. KinProof may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. After termination, data is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. In case of subscription cancellation, the effects described in Section 7 apply.
12. Changes
These Terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. The courts of Vitória/ES, Brazil, have jurisdiction over any disputes, without prejudice to consumer jurisdiction where applicable by law.
